How long does CBT treatment usually last?

Because anxiety problems vary widely, it is difficult to say how long CBT treatment for anxiety will take; it depends on each person’s specific symptoms.  In general, CBT is meant to be short-term and last 12-16 weeks. However, treatment may last substantially longer if a person has a severe form of anxiety and/or has multiple problems to address.
